Chase Herbstreit commits to Michigan's 2025 class, joining Bryce Underwood.
In a thrilling turn of events, Chase Herbstreit, son of ESPN analyst and former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit, has committed to the University of Michigan's football team. On Sunday, Chase announced his intention to join the Wolverines on a scholarship, becoming the second quarterback in their 2025 recruiting class. This class already boasts top-tier talent, including five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect. Herbstreit completed an impressive senior year at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, where he amassed 26 touchdowns and led his team to a regional final. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 185 pounds, Chase will be the 23rd recruit in Sherrone Moore's inaugural recruiting class at Michigan, which includes nine prospects within ESPN's top 300 rankings. With this commitment, Chase continues a familial legacy in collegiate football, following in the footsteps of his father and brothers, who have all been part of renowned football programs. His older siblings Tye and Jake walked on at Clemson, while another brother, Zak, is currently a walk-on tight end at Ohio State. Though Zak faced significant health challenges, he remains on the squad, showcasing the family's resilience and shared passion for the sport.
