Recap: LSU Dominates in 42-10 Victory
LSU Tigers overwhelm South Alabama with explosive 667-yard offense
LSU Tigers roared past South Alabama with a 42-10 victory, led by Garrett Nussmeier who threw a personal best of 409 yards. Caden Durham was an absolute force with 217 yards from scrimmage and two stupendous touchdowns. LSU kickoff was swifter than a cat on a hot tin roof when Durham took a swing pass 71 yards for a touchdown right outta the gate. The Tigers had a 21-0 lead before anyone could blink. Nussmeier kept things rollin' with a swift 1-yard dash to the end zone followed by a crisp 23-yard pass to Aaron Anderson. As for the defense, they hunkered down in the second half allowing solemn scores. South Alabama's descent began with a field goal early in the second quarter but couldn’t muster a comeback. LSU dominated, firmly planting themselves back in the rankings due to Georgia's and Ole Miss's stumbles. Next up, the Tigers have a date scheduled with Ole Miss at home after a well-deserved pause.
