TLDR: Hey y’all, the LSU Tigers ain’t lookin’ too hot for the playoff berth after gettin’ a whoopin’ from Bama in Week 11. They sit at No. 22 with a measly 7.7% chance makin’ it to the National Championship. But the anticipation for their bowl game is stirrin’ some pots. Right now, the buzz says LSU’s likely headin’ to the Gator Bowl come Jan. 2 to tussle with Louisville. Ol’ CBS Sports and them are predictin’ that matchup again and again. The Gator ain’t no spring chicken, bein’ the sixth oldest bowl game down yonder in Jacksonville, Fla. Meanwhile, them folks at 247Sports reckon the Tigers might clash with the Michigan Wolverines in the Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tenn. Come bowl season, things could turn ‘round fast—like a squirrel at a Sunday picnic. Folks like ESPN’s Heather Dinich still sees a path for a three-loss SEC team rockin’ the playoffs if the cards fall just so, but LSU’s road remains rocky. They better hope them chips fall just right, but hey, stranger things have happened down in the good ol’ SEC.
Folks, if ya ain’t heard, our LSU Tigers ain’t in the best spot after Alabama gave ‘em a good ol’ reality check in Week 11. Sitting at No. 22 ain’t where we like to be with just a puny 7.7% shot at national glory. But let’s not hang our heads low ‘cause there’s plenty chatter ‘bout where they might end up bowl-wise. See, the Tigers got a few predictions floatin’ around, and while a playoff bid is lookin’ darn near impossible, there’s still somethin’ to look forward to come the postseason.
The big talk of the town is the Gator Bowl down in Jacksonville, and that’s been poppin’ up in them predictions like popcorn at a cookout. Reports from CBS Sports and other folks keep sayin’ LSU might be facin’ Louisville on January 2nd. Y’all might know, the Gator Bowl’s been around the block a time or two, bein’ the sixth oldest in the biz. Course, there’s that ole’ Music City Bowl too, with 247Sports reckonin’ the Tigers might lock horns with Michigan Wolverines in Nashville come December 30th. Now, that ain’t no bad trip right there.
Now don’t count our Tigers out just yet, ‘cause funny things happen in college ball! Heather Dinich from ESPN says a three-loss SEC team ain’t totally outta the playoff picture just yet. It’s like findin’ the last biscuit at a family dinner, tricky but not impossible. But ol’ LSU sure looks like they gotta wrestle a greased pig to make the championship game. If Georgia or others slip up, we might get that window crackin’ open. We might be on shaky ground, but we’d been on them rocks before. Tigers are tough, and who knows, with a lil’ luck and a heap of those gumptious plays, we might just see somethin’ special.
Georgia's playoff hopes hinge on offensive improvement.
