TLDR: It’s high time LSU Tiger fans start wonderin’ if Brian Kelly is worth keepin’. This fella has been more red faced than a turkey the day before Thanksgiving, all while deliverin’ less blitz and more blunder on the field. And don’t ya get me started on how LSU ain’t firin’ him, not cuz of that mountain-sized buyout he’s sittin’ on, but ‘cause ol’ Scott Woodward ain’t willin’ to admit his mistake just yet. And heck, they still got hope pinned on the young five-star QB recruit, Bryce Underwood, stickin’ round. But folks, Underwood could just swift away as fast as a hot knife through butter, and then remember, patience is thinner than a cat’s whisker down in Baton Rouge. They had the nerve to lose to Florida with a lackluster score like 27-16, makin’ it obvious that Kelly’s missteps are darn visible. Yet, there’s a sliver of confidence in his recruitin’ skills, rated tough as No. 6 in 2023, No. 7 in 2024, and maybe even top-four this year. He could talk the hind leg off a donkey convincin’ these recruits, but lacks in deliverin’ on the promise between the yards. It ain’t just about scouts and stars, buddy, it’s about performin’ when the chips are down. LSU can indeed walk away from him if this trend don’t buck up, as buyouts and NIL might be two peas in the same pod, but when push comes to shove, tradition and expectin’ wins speak louder than any sum. Baton Rouge fans deserve more and frankly, the season shows us—especially after that slip against the Gators—that time ain’t on Brian Kelly’s side.
Now folks, it’s somethin’ else knowin’ you got a coach like Brian Kelly around here at LSU, struttin’ the sidelines, redder-faced than a Georgia peach blushin’ at high noon. Ain’t no surprise that fella’s antics are stirrin’ up the pot more than a gumbo dinner cooked too long on a Friday night. I mean, here we are, sittin’ with a team that should be winnin’ games, not fumblin’ the ball like a greased pig at the county fair. Yet it seems like Kelly’s still hangin’ onto his lucky rabbit’s foot holdin’ out for any hope of savin’ his neck, thanks to five-star recruit Bryce Underwood keepin’ some sparkle in them tiger eyes.
Now don’t go throwin’ your remote at the T.V. just yet, buddies. Let me tell y’all, those fat buyout checks are a bigger deal than tryin’ to get my Granny to switch from sweet tea to somethin’ without taste. Reportedly, the powers-that-be ain’t firin’ that man soon, not cause he’s outperformed what’s expected for that hefty paycheck, but it seems Scott Woodward is bout as ready to admit his mistake as a crawfish’s ready to swim in ketchup. Hope’s danglin’ on a string with young Underwood, and if he skedaddles faster than a hound dog on a scent, well, friend, some heads might be rollin’ at dusk.
As LSU fans, we deserve a coach who doesn’t just talk the talk but can walk it down Tiger Stadium’s grand ol’ field. The fact that we sat through a loss to Florida, 27-16, proved this romance ain’t spurrin’ no victories to write home about. Sure, lie eyes on the recruitin’ rankings, Kelly has brought glory to them numbers, placed at No. 6 for 2023 and No. 7 for 2024, but let’s face it, them rankings ain’t goin’ cut it alone. It ain’t just about stackin’ up shiny stars, folks, but deliverin’ results when it’s crunch-time, and brother, we been crunchin’ a lot… and comin’ up empty.
Here we are again, wonderin’ if LSU will hold onto their beloved football tradition with recruit success or start plannin’ a weathered coachin’ change. If things don’t start turnin’ round quicker than a bumblebee hits flowers come spring, I reckon ol’ Kelly might find that luxurious buyout waitin’ for him on the horizon. These Tigers, they don’t just want to play, buddy, they wanna win. So, Coach Kelly better stop lookin’ like he just swallowed a chokeberry and start provin’ his worth to the ol’ South, or he might just be feelin’ the winds of change before long. Until then, keep watchin’, keep hopin’, and keep grillin’. Warms my heart more than a South Alabama sun.
